Editing scanner images

So I decided to edit the scanner images to black and white with a high contrast, this has completely changed them. They look much more interesting and less ‘scanner-ish’.

I am however worried that I am veering off topic , although I am enjoying being more experimental and I still have one more experiment to try yet (Not including my translucent egg!)

I do like the scanner image of the egg, it seems to be sinking into soft surroundings and has a gentle almost luxurious feel to it. The smooth egg and the soft base. And the cabbage leaf looks technical, like it belongs in the pages of a biology book. I am surprised how well some of the objects have kept their depth.

  1. Thank-you, I am thinking over a few options, I do like the scanned egg image so I’m hoping I can use it somehow. Perhaps in a triptych will the photographed egg and the translucent egg when I get to do it?
