I have completed various initial shots around the theme of the River Cray following it from its industrial past up by the old flour mill to Hall Place and its formal setting. It has many different looks as it travels through the town.
Many photos from this series overlap with my childhood test series as the river has featured greatly in my childhood, from splashing in the water at Hall Place, catching minnows at the waterside to shimmying along the pipes at the canal end if I was dared to.
Overall I am happy with my initial shots as they show a clear change in the rivers identity as it flows through the town and also documents its varied uses within a town. From the industries that needed the fresh river water and transport barges, families relaxing and playing to teenagers looking for somewhere to hangout out away from prying eyes.
